Jane Thomas Landscape & Garden Design
Originally trained in graphic design, Jane worked for twelve years in the publishing industry in London. She decided to search out new creative challenges and retrained in garden design at Capel Manor College and gained a masters in landscape architecture at Greenwich University, London.

Based in Hertfordshire and with clients in the surrounding counties and London, Jane can offer a creative and professional service encompassing all aspects of garden design. She is not confined to a particular style, and is as happy creating a minimalist courtyard as designing a traditional cottage garden.

Every client and every site is different, and she enjoys transforming your outdoor space into an area which works for you and your budget. Jane works with private clients, developers, architects and contractors to deliver gardens from initial consultation to completion of works on site and advice on ongoing management.
Services
Each project is unique to client and site and is reflected in the services provided and the design fees charged. Please contact us to talk through your requirements. To design a successful space we need an accurate SURVEY detailing the boundaries, the existing house, any features to remain, any relevant services and the topographic details.
Jane is a pleasure to work with; she listens carefully and is very thorough in her approach - then quickly comes back with variety of good and practical ideas and plans to meet the brief. Her services are definitely very good value, I would have no hesitation recommending her. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Jane throughout the whole process of redesigning my patio.
We are helping clients to convert an old kidney-shaped pool into a fantastic natural swimming pool! The existing deck on the back of the house will be extended around the new pool with aquatic plants, rocks and a gravel pathway surrounding the pool. Swathes of wildflower turf will be planted around the seating area to make it enclosed with colourful flowers.
The brief for this garden was to create a courtyard space for the clients to entertain and relax, including a blade water feature clad in slate, a built in cantilevered bench, and rendered planting troughs. The paving is sawn sandstone from London Stone and the lawn was replaced with artificial turf.
This garden was entered into the District Schools in Bloom 2016 Competition and won the Wonderful Wildlife category!. We are really proud of all the hard work that went into creating this garden from scratch. A once bare area at the bottom of the playing field is now transformed.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Jane throughout the whole process of redesigning my patio. We met with a number of companies and Jane was the one that totally understood my requirements and pretty much got the design right first time. She also works with a great network of suppliers who really deliver on her imaginative designs. I look forward to enjoying my fab patio for years to come.
