AAB architects is a design-led practice based in north London, providing a proactive architectural service tailored to individual client needs. Established in 2000 by practice principal Alice Brown, the practice has kept its approachable, genuine nature, taking pride in positive working relationships with clients and consultants.
Predominantly working on educational, community and residential projects for a wide range of clients, the practice specialises in work to existing buildings, including reuse, repair and conservation. Alice studied architecture at Cambridge University, where she graduated with a 1st class honours degree, and at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Following completion of her diploma, Alice gained a range of experience in a number of renowned design practices, including Colin St John Wilson & Partners where she spent a year working on the British Library.

Our passion for adapting, converting and extending existing buildings stems from our approach to sustainability; we are concerned with the long-term management and care of buildings and the future of our built environment. Wholly positive. AAB brought very smooth project supervision, efficient liaison with the planners, great client alertness and a strong working relationship with the builders and engineer. And the design quality and constant eye on costs were each greatly appreciated. I can't recommend them highly enough.

AAB Architects designed a rooftop extension for our Georgian terraced house in a conservation area in North London. It was a small job in size, but required a sensitive approach from obtaining planning permission to implementation in a very restricted site. The quality of the design service was excellent throughout: from expanding the architectural possibilities of a restricted space and the close attention to detail in its execution. They found competitive contractors to tender for the job and supervised the building work closely so that the project remained within budget and schedule. We are
