I founded Joanne Alderson Design ltd after graduating as a textile designer from Loughborough College of Art. Great times & great fun working with big names in the industry for 10 years, I learnt a lot about style, colour, space, proportion & how to take & fulfil a brief. As a keen gardener too I just couldn't resist the great outdoors so retrained in horticulture & garden design at Warwickshire College.
It was truly hard work but absolutely one of the best things I ever did. I love my job & am exceedingly privileged to have it. I literally spend my life making people happy. I'm an award winning Chelsea garden designer too I'm delighted to say as I won both a silver medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show together with the BBC peoples choice award for my graduation show garden.
I now produce stylish & individual gardens & landscapes for discerning clients around Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire, The Cotswolds & Buckinghamshire. I lived in Henley on Thames for a few years & still have a lot of work in that area but travel far too as my clients kindly refer me to their friends.

Services
What do you need? My aim is to create gardens that are bespoke & personal to my clients. I listen to what you don't want in addition to what you do want. My garden & landscape designs are created to suit the client, the plot and the budget. All my schemes are well structured and work through the seasons - winter is a long time so a good structure is vital!

I don't really go in for competitions but am proud to say I won a silver medal at my first & only foray into the ultimate of competitions - RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
I work with a surveyor to ensure accuracy & CAD if need be, but as I've always loved drawing, it's my preferred method. These images give you a taste of what I produce - generally it is a series of sketches together with large scale accurate drawings for contractors to work from. We just didn't know what to do with the small, neglected garden of our new house.
