Led by MD and head designer Bonnie Sutton, they are known as one of the UK's most innovative and artistic rug companies, their exquisite and sophisticated creations adoring the most luxurious of homes around the world. Knots Rugs has its rug roots spanning 3 generations, starting in the 1930's with Bonnie Sutton's Grandfather, Alfred Sutton, a true Artist and talented restorer, expert of antique and oriental carpets and textiles.
With a keen eye for design and a fine art aesthetic, Bonnie along with her father, Bernie Sutton, started Knots Rugs, back in 2007 in the memory of her Grandfathers work and passion. Knots production was a spectacular collection of Florence Broadhurst wallpaper designs successfully re-invented into rugs.
First shown at 100% Design in September of that year, it was a huge success. In 2008, Linny Moss, Bonnies aunt joined the father and daughter team, further establishing Knots as a strong family run enterprise. A highly creative individual, Linny came to Knots from a successful background in fashion, couture and retail.

At Knots Rugs we are dedicated to producing new collections to inspire our customers year after year. Sometimes we know an adjustment is needed to create the perfect rug for your space. Our experienced design team is here to help you with this process. Using our current collection as the canvas we can change colour, materials, scale and produce in sizes up to 30ft x 40ft to suit your needs.
The wool used in our rugs comes from Tibetan Highland Sheep, which is one of the best quality wools on the market. Highland Tibetan wool is high in fat, otherwise known as lanolin. The high Lanolin content in their coats is used for protection against the elements and once transformed into a hand woven rug the Lanolin also protects against staining in the finished article.
When you buy a Knots Rugs rug you are investing in a product that will stand up to the test of time. A quality rug is durable and completely cleanable due to the high quality materials used in producing the rugs. At Knots Rugs we pride ourselves in the fact that we only use natural fibers such as silk, wool and nettle making our rugs a good investment.
