Beckingham Designs are Bespoke Cabinet Makers based in the Essex countryside near Maldon. We have some of the most skilled cabinet makers and polishers in the area with many years experience. Cabinet-making is a unique trade that we are very proud to be involved with. We use traditional methods but we're constantly looking to improve the quality of our work using modern techniques, when appropriate.
Our handmade furniture starts with an idea through to design, and then hand-picking the material. We take great care in matching grain and colour throughout each piece. Furthermore, the choice and knowledge of a finish and how to best apply it, on a handmade piece of furniture, will enhance the beauty of it.
Throughout production we are constantly monitoring the quality and standard. Our skills and experience are wide, therefore we can offer a wide range of services including: traditional through to contemporary handmade furniture, antique restoration and many finishes from French polish to modern spray finish.

Services
We provide a free consultation and design service, which often involves a site visit to get a detailed understanding of your requirements. By working closely with you or your architect/interior designer, we ensure that every piece of bespoke furniture commissioned is perfect down to the smallest detail.
Beckingham designs are a very precise manufacturing joinery company who I have used several times in the last few years. They are perfectionists and have pride in their work. All our work has be achieved with my design and their manufacturing and installation, we are a good combination. All our Clients are delighted with the work that has been done, cleanly, efficiently, and on time.
We repair and restore furniture whether modern or antique and we undertake any wood finish from traditional French polishing (including wood simulation, colour balancing) to spray lacquering in our own spray booth facilities. We offer a full range of furniture restoration services. For example: Leathering, upholstery, guilding and French polishing while much consideration and care is taken to preserve the original wood and patina.
