My costings are reasonable, realistic with no hidden charges. You can pay either hourly or by day/half day. Hourly: I'm 35 per hour for 1 friendly man and van for the time spent with you, plus travel time to and from the job. This is for if you/a friend help me lift the heavy bits like sofas. Or I'm 45 per hour for 2 men and we'll do all the lifting.
For longer distance jobs I charge 1.10 per mile for the drive plus the hourly rate for the time spent loading/unloading. This is a very standard rate, and the minimum amount all the other companies will charge you, many just don't reveal full costs until the end of the job. Beware of cowboys offering 15 per hour removals - this would barely even cover the van's running costs, it's just to get you interested!
