Newfields Gardening C I C
Newfields gardening is purpose built for providing gardening and leisure activities in a relaxed atmosphere. We are wheelchair friendly and suit all mobilities. We are flexible in you choosing the activities you want to do, including growing plants, using machinery and taking part in arts, crafts and other fun things.

We are a not for profit organisation set in approximately one acre of garden with workshops, greenhouses, art/activity rooms. Alison has over 20 years experience in horticulture, conservation and supporting people to learn new skills. Alison has worked on our current site for 14 years and was a main reason that Newfields opened in 2016.

Alison is most probably the most patient person you will meet. If you want to learn how to grow plants and enjoy your day, come and join Alison. Christine is a hard worker. She supervises our arts and crafts group, works in our greenhouses and sometimes takes the Garden Maintenance Team out to do work in the truck.
Services
In our team you will be shown how to grow plants from sowing the seeds to enjoying the flowers and picking the fruit and vegetables. If you want to, there is also the chance to learn how to use the key start lawn mower and mow and edge the lawn. We have two large greenhouses, a potting shed and a workshop, where we can still work if it's cold or wet.
If you join the garden maintenance team you can learn how to mow lawns, trim hedges, use a strimmer, lay turf, put up fences and other types of work. We have designed gardens, completed garden makeovers and built raised beds and painted fences. We already hold various contracts around the city that you can work on as well as working on private gardens.
Christine supports our group to make topical things such as Valentine Cards, Mothers Day Cards, Easter Baskets as well as making paper flowers, decorating vases, making jewellery and many other projects. We have even made cakes! In our art room, we also have Zumba sessions, movies, music, birdwatching, photography and lots more!
