William Gray studied architecture at Greenwich and Westminster Universities before setting up William Gray Associates in 1986. William had worked previously with conservation architects Benson & Bryant before establishing his own practice in central London. Initially working largely on basements, alterations and extensions within central and south London, William moved his family north to County Durham in the early 1990s.
Being a small practice, we offer an individual service to clients. We are conscious that clients have finite budgets and work to develop interesting and practical projects within cost constraints. We like to keep clients in the picture at all stages of the work. If you have issues or queries as the project develops, we're always available to discuss your concerns.
If you want the thing to be beautifully designed and carefully considered, the answer is yes! However if you know exactly what you want and simply need someone to draw it up and get it built, a competent building surveyor will suffice. Most of our work comes through recommendation. When you first contact us, it's helpful for both parties to understand what your requirements and expectations are.
It's about gathering, storing and exchanging information, relating to construction, in the most efficient way, through its whole life cycle. The BIM model is created by the design team using a data rich 3D computer model instead of separate sets of 2D drawings and specifications. This approach ensures that the project has a fully coordinated and accurate set of construction documentation.
