We're a family run business and we strive to make sure we offer our customers the best service. Chris Judge created Judge Electrical in 2001 as a single electrician working in and around York, specialising in 'site work' (new office and home building). Chris Judge trained as an electrician with York firms Plowman Electrical and Cooper Electrical and has now been an electrician for over 20 years.
Judge Electrical Limited is an NICEIC approved contractor and an NICEIC approved domestic installer. York electrical company, Judge Electrical Ltd, offer a fuse board replacement service in York and the surrounding area. Judge Electrical can install the voltage optimiser at a time to suit the customer - evenings and weekends included.
NICEIC (pronounced 'nicky') is the prime UK independent electrical contractors standards agency. Electrical contractors join NICEIC to give customers confidence that they are competent and trustworthy; this is why you see the NICEIC logo on many electrical contractor's websites. About 90% of UK local authorities do not employ electrical contractors unless they are members of NICEIC.
Their is a company called National Grid that owns UK and US energy distribution networks (electricity and gas). This web page, when referring to 'National Grid' means the generation and high powered distribution network. The National Grid is the infrastructure of electricity generation and distribution from power station to major substations.
FITs (Feed In Tariff) payments are the common name for the UK incentive scheme to install PV (Photo Voltaic) solar panels. The aim of the incentive is to reduce the UK carbon footprint. The UK Government has made the payments of FITs, by the electricity suppliers for example E.ON, EDF and Npower, a condition of getting a distribution licence.

Having used Judge Electrical before and been pleased with the work I recently had further work done. They arrived quickly and sorted the issue replacing an external security light. A couple of days later I had an electrical outage and had to ring them again. They arrived within the hour, sorted the issue replacing a socket. Both lads were efficient and friendly and I would not hesitate to recommend Judge Electrical for a job well done at a reasonable price. Many thanks.

Judge Electrical carried out the electric survey when I moved here 2 years ago. They upgrades a number of sockets and brought the wiring up to standard. They have recently replaced an outdoor light. All their work has been carried out in a friendly and professional manner. I was especially pleased they were so quick to fix the outdoor lighting. Highly recommended and I will definitely use them again.

Very helpful advice received when I rang. I was given a clear explanation of their services and charges. When the Electrician arrived he was methodical and polite, working to a good standard that inspired confidence. He identified my problem and gave good advice on what to do next.
There was an issue with the charge but this was corrected with one phone call. I would have no problem in recommending this company to anyone.

From quotation to final electrical installation, the level of service provided by Chris and the team was excellent. We will not hesitate calling on them again as and when required and recommending them to family and friends. We were initially attracted by their very professional website, following a local advert - they were super friendly and efficient and provided us with the peace of mind that they knew exactly what was needed to comply with the job required.

Had had an ongoing problem with a lack of/intermittent earth on an upgraded Kitchen ring main, following an earlier Kitchen refurbishment and recent fitting of an new oven by a 3rd party.
Rang Judge Electrical who were relatively local and Chris managed to fit in an initial inspection to try and diagnose the problem
He turned up on time and systematically tried to trace the fault from the circuit breaker.
As he had other appointments that day he agreed to return and I made a further appointment via Mollie, during which he traced and rectified the problem.

Booked 2 dates as the 1st required date was quite close and they were not sure if all the work could be done on 1st visit.
Fitted 2 new spurs for new electric fire and TV media wall, also installed 3 x double sockets in TV wall recess.
All work was completed on first visit and was performed very professionally and to a very high standard. Will not hesitate to use again and are highly recommended.
