J. S. HARVIE & CO was established in 1959 by current Chairman and Owner, Sir Jack Harvie CBE, as a partnership dealing mostly in the decorative area. The Company has expanded and grown into the contracting field to meet the needs of clients. Our experience now extends to Schools, Museums, Government Buildings, Hospitals, refurbishment of Housing stock and the Commercial sector.
All Management and Supervisors have long-term commitment to the Company with many years experience in handling all aspects of the trade. C.I.T.B. together with Health & Safety courses are regularly attended to meet the ever-changing market requirements and statutory regulations. All our site foremen have long-term service with our organisation and possess vast experience of the trade.
All our tradesmen are qualified with City & Guilds achievements, the majority of which commenced their careers with the Company. All our apprentices undertake a four-year apprenticeship under the supervision of a tradesman whilst attending college courses on block release.

The experience and strong reputation gained during this time has enabled the company to provide a diverse range of painting services to a wide and varied selection of clients.
With more than 55 years of history and experience in the trade, we guarantee that all our employees are directly employed time served, skilled tradespersons. We continue to feed our growing workforce through our successful Apprenticeship Programme, by targeting opportunities for new Apprentices within the communities and areas in which we work.
