We are a family run business established in 1988, although Richard has been working with wood for over 40 years. We live next to our workshop which can be found 2 miles outside Canterbury in the village of Chartham, Kent. We take pride in both designing and building custom kitchens and free-standing furniture with functionality and style in mind, specialising in using ethically sourced wood.
Our kitchens are made to the highest standard and are truly bespoke to fit both your home and you. We offer both polished wood or a painted finish, full fitting service and solid wood or stone worktops. We welcome visitors to our workshop to discuss possible commissions and view our work in progress. We can price a prospective job from a few measurements and a basic sketch.

Services
We are a family run business established in 1988, although Richard has been working with wood for over 40 years. We live next to our workshop which can be found a few miles outside Canterbury in the village of Chartham, Kent. Richard worked restoring antique furniture for many years, gaining valuable experience on how to construct furniture to a standard which would make it last centuries.
Chipboard is not in our vocabulary, and we specialise in hand-made, traditional construction methods which ensure that furniture will last a lifetime. For a snapshot of our methods, please see below. All wood is hydroscopic. I know that sounds dull and boring, however, what it means is it has a moisture content which is permanently affected by changes in relative humidity.
Our bespoke furniture is made by hand and therefore has the quality and attention to detail that manufactured, mass-produced items simply can't offer. With fitted furniture, we give the option of carcasses built using sheet material. Unless necessary, we do not use MDF and will never construct furniture or kitchens using chipboard.

We ensure our kitchens are built to the same high quality as the furniture and only use solid wood face frames, traditional drawer runners, and classic butt hinges.
We guarantee that our furniture is unbreakable in normal use. We guarantee that all methods and materials used are suitable for a lifetime's usage. What is not covered by this guarantee is wear and tear, abusive or intentional damage, exposure to extreme humidity in either direction, fire and smoke damage.

Richard made a set of three solid European oak internal panelled doors, that were amazing. The workmanship and quality was much better than anything else we had looked at and the price was extremely competitive.
Richard and Marion made the whole process of placing a 'made to measure' order easy and we were kept well informed as to when the order was going to be ready.
The doors were delivered and we even got advice on the ongoing care of them.
From start to finish the experience was seamless and finely honed.
