Established in Norwich City Centre in the mid 1980's we have been successfully supplying handmade rugs for 30 years. Our showrooms are situated on 3 floors in historic Bedford Street in The Lanes, in the centre of Norwich behind Jarrolds Dept. We believe we have the best selection of rugs anywhere in the region.
Our showrooms are arranged over 3 floors and situated in historic Bedford Street - part of The Norwich Lanes - in the very centre of Norwich. These historic narrow streets are home to many of Norwich's oldest shops. Many are listed buildings and house a wealth of independent retailers specialising in such diverse trades as an art gallery, antiques, modern and traditional furnishings, fine country clothing and a gentlemen's outfitters.
When choosing a rug there are many factors to take into consideration; colour, design, cost, materials and suitability for the space being considered all have a bearing. As a potential buyer of one of my rugs you can rest assured that on the issue of quality you will have nothing to worry about. I personally choose each and every rug that we have in stock.

Simply call in to our Bedford Street showrooms and choose a selection of rugs that are suitable for your space and we will arrange to show them to you at home, at a time convenient to you.
We offer a full and competitive rug cleaning and repair service on all sizes of rugs and kilims. We have undertaken specialist restoration work including cleaning and repairs, insurance salvage work following floods, fire and accidental damage and are now recommended by many local and national insurers.

Really pleased with the whole process of buying our rug. Went to the shop to browse initially where we were informed of the availability of a try at home service, which is free of charge. 6 rugs chosen to be brought to our house so we could see them in situ which definitely made making a final choice much easier. No pressure sales service, combined with great knowledge and wide selection of rugs - would happily recommend to others.

Great service from James at Oriental Rugs. Absolutely no pressure to make a decision on the day or buy.
Rugs that he brought were all fantastic quality; when you think how much time each must take to make, we also think they are great value. If we were looking for another rug after lockdown, we would ask for the home visit service again.

Shop not open due to lockdown so I chose two red rugs online to go with my red sofas but wasn't a hundred percent happy with my unadventurous choice. After speaking to James on the phone and explaining what I was looking for I booked the two rugs plus three more mystery rugs for home delivery. I also sent him photos of my sitting room and sofas to help him choose the mystery rugs. He absolutely listened to what my preferences were and I fell in love with the first rug he showed and scrapped the two I chose! James was very professional, friendly and gave us space to make the right choice. I would

We are very thankful to James for the excellent service he provided.. We presented him with what we thought was an unsolvable challenge - to find a rug which added interest to our living room without losing the tranquility of our existing decor.James searched extensively and when he had found 6 or 7 potential rugs he arranged to bring them to show us how they looked in situ.That was enormously helpful and although 2 were not to our taste the remaining rugs were strong contenders. Without being pressurised we were allowed space and time to make our choice. Several weeks later we are still admiring

I stumbled on the rug shop by accident...recently moved to the area and was finding my way about. I am so glad I did ! The shop has an amazing amount of rugs. I was a bit overwhelmed at having so much choice but David was so very helpful. He suggested they bring several rugs to my home ( without any pressure to buy) A time was booked and James and David duly turned up with several rugs. They were both so patient and helpful. We settled on a beautiful rug and are thrilled with it. Customer service is exceptional. Would not hesitate to recommend.
