Appleyards Removals was established in the late 1800's in Conisbrough by the great, great grandfather of the current directors, Harry and John Appleyard who took over the business in 1976. In 1981 we built the first purpose built warehouse in Rotherham and subsequently developed our self storage and document storage sections thereafter.
In the same year we were asked to join Britannia Movers International, making us one of the first of the forty-one current members of the Britannia co-operative. We are very quality orientated therefore your move and recommendation means everything to us and you will often find us working out of hours to make sure your move goes completely to plan.
Sunday family dinners are more like company board meetings and any holidays we take are much the same. All the current Appleyard family have learnt the ropes from the ground upwards. Harry and John in their younger days did the first moves to Europe along with some very loyal and dedicated staff.

Services
Britannia Appleyards recommends a visit from one of our surveyors for all moves to assess the volume of goods you want to move, packing requirements and answer any questions that you may have, our aim is to make you as comfortable as possible with every aspect of your move and help you prepare for your moving day.
Vehicles serviced every two to three weeks rather than the ten week period allowed by VOSA. Vehicles serviced in own workshops and all waste materials disposed of by certified companies. New vehicles can take up to thirteen months to plan and build and during this time we try to spec the most efficient and environmentally advanced truck possible.
Hello David, I wanted to let you know that we are very pleased about the delivery of our furniture last Wednesday. Hi David Wayne did a great job on Monday, so you can thank him and the team back at base and thanks to you too for getting it organised-hope you got the payment and paperw. Just a short note to say that all the furniture has arrived.
Our depot and warehouse is based one minute from the M18 motorway junction 1, so we are local to Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop, Retford, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Castleford and Pontefract. We undertake removals nationwide including the Channel Islands, Scottish Islands and Northern Ireland and with 40 other Britannia depots delivery assistance is available nationwide.
Below are the sizes and dimensions of the most commonly used containers to ship household goods and personal effects. It is worth remembering that the Cubic Capacity stated is the maximum, when loading household goods and personal effects allow 10% reduction in capacity. When planning an international move, most of our customers are keen to know how long it will take the consignment to reach its destination.

David Appleyard and his colleagues Katie and Gareth of Britannia Appleyards have been absolutely brilliant. We were recommended their services through another moving company as it was an international move. From the first phone call all the way through to the end, we were really happy with their services. They are on the ball, kept us to date throughout, managed to work with the moving dates we wanted and were really lovely to work with. Everything went smoothly with the move, we received our things earlier than expected as they were so efficient and all the customs clearings went well and quickly

I would just like to pass on a massive "Thank You" to the Britannia/Appleyards team who helped us move on the 26th October.
The team who arrived on Thursday to package our items were professional and very efficient. Making light work of what was a "lot of stuff" for a 3 bed semi detached property.
And on Friday, whilst it took a while to actually get the keys and begin unloading, the team remained focused and professional finishing only slightly later than anticipated due to their hard work!
Having moved ourselves previously, I had reservations about using a removal firm. However, in the scheme
