If you're thinking of a home extension, loft conversion, converting your garage, or even building a new home - knowing where to begin can be a very daunting prospect. I can help to simplify this process for you by drawing up your plans and offering friendly, jargon free guidance and advice along the way.

I can turn your ideas into architectural plans and help take them from concept to reality, assisting with the planning process as much or as little as you like. My fees are very competitive and easy to understand, with no hidden surprises.
Services
It's understandably usually the first question and It's not always easy to give an exact cost from the outset, but my intention here is to give a fair average guide as to what you can expect to pay for me to draw your plans and act as your agent (where appropriate and required), with the following project types in mind.
Whether you're still a little unsure, or have decided to go ahead, starting your project is as easy as picking up the phone. I will try to arrange a time to come and meet you that fits around you and we can have an informal chat about your ideas. If you decide to go ahead, I can often start to take measurements straightaway, time allowing of course, or I can arrange for a further visit to do this.
Once you decide to go ahead with your project I will need to take detailed measurements of your proposed site, which includes any existing buildings. It can take an hour or so to do this, depending on just what the project involves of course, but it's a vital part of the process that allows me to create accurate, working drawings.
You may need planning approval depending upon the type of changes that you have in mind. Sometimes the rules that decide this can seem complicated but I can advise on whether or not you may need approval from your local authority. The fee for a householder planning application is currently 172.00.
This is separate from the planning process and again, it may not be required depending upon the type of change that you are planning. Building Regulations Approval exists to ensure that any work that is carried out, is done so to strict quality and safety standards. The process involves submitting detailed construction plans with notes of the work involved, explaining how the work will actually be done.
