Burlington Waugh were asked to provide a controls solution for the Northumbria University Students Union after several maintenance visits had revealed lighting problems throughout the building. Burlington Waugh began a lighting replacement programme in the Hospital in 2012, the remit was to replace the old fluorescent lighting in corridors, plant rooms and office spaces with a modern LED equivalent, improve control and save energy where possible.
Many commercial and domestic projects require an interface between the lighting system and the Audio-Visual system, this is typified in meeting rooms where a third-party AV control system such as AMX or Crestron may be used to turn on projectors, close blinds and turn amplifiers on, or a home cinema which requires many of the same functions but may use a home automation brand of control products such as Harmony.
