Roman blinds are stylish and elegant, they look stunning when used on their own for a minimalist look or teamed with curtains. Roman blinds are ideal if you have a radiator under the window but still want long curtains for a dramatic effect - just pull down the blinds at night. You can also have your blind interlined for extra insulation or have blackout lining for bedrooms.

Measure the width of the recess from wall to wall in 3 different places and take the smallest as your measurement. Measure the drop from the recess to the sill in 3 different places and again take the smallest as your measurement. Then decide if you want the track fitted on the window frame (face fixed) or the ceiling of the recess (top fixed).

There are wonderful furnishing fabrics in the shops today and so much to choose from and you can often find a perfect remnant at a fraction of the cost. Made into blinds you can appreciate the beauty of a fabric but if the design is too big on a small window you will lose the effect. Avoid large patterns for small blinds and any design which will give your blind an unbalanced look.

As a Roman Blind maker Calico Blinds are bound to ensure that compliant safety devices are used and that the finished blinds meets the new regulations. Internal breakaway mechanism so no breakaway devices or safety boxes needed - chains can be 60 cm from the floor.

Jacky Norman from Calico Blinds was an absolute pleasure to deal with. The website is easy to use and I found all the information I needed to successfully measure my windows for my Roman Blinds. When the Roman Blinds arrived the quality and hand finished detail was second to none. Easy to install and the track is first rate with a silver chain which finishes the look of my blind beautifully.
