Launched by Simon Nicholl in 2009, we are a bespoke furniture company designing and making handcrafted furniture across the areas of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, London and the surrounding towns. Our dedicated team of cabinet makers are situated in a thriving workshop just outside of Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
S. Nicholl Furniture provides a furniture design service to ensure the perfect piece of bespoke furniture is made to the specified requirements. The process begins with an initial guide price, followed by a free design consultation to discuss objectives, materials choices, design criteria and the practicalities of the construction.
We commissioned Simon to build fitted cupboards and shelving for four alcoves in our Grade 2 listed home and we are thrilled with the results. He worked with us closely throughout the process and understood the additional requirements we had to meet because of its listed status. The workmanship is excellent and the cupboards have transformed our room.

Refurbishing our existing kitchen the project required an additional 2 cupboard doors to be made to match the existing doors. Only a small job but not straightforward given the design profile of the doors …from the first telephone call through to collection Simon and his team could not have been more helpful and enthusiastic … Simon quickly provided us with options and estimated cost. The work was carried out to the highest standard … the doors fit perfectly and are indistinguishable from the originals (apart from being white ahead of the kitchen all being painted) The additional doors are

We have used Simon and his team for all of the professional joinery in our new home. He made our custom kitchen, front door, internal doors, cloakroom and shelves. Simon’s attention to detail and quality workmanship means that the joinery has been integral and complimentary to the architecture of the house. I would strongly recommend Simon to anyone interested in commissioning bespoke furniture. We are really happy with the design and craftsmanship of the work Simon and his team have completed for us. Simon designed and made a built in TV unit and a set of bedroom furniture, including built in wardrobes.
We were really impressed with the time Simon spent patiently extracting our half-baked ideas and turning them in to furniture designs, this couldn’t have been easy as we weren’t completely sure what we wanted. Simon spent hours researching solutions to our demanding brief, especially on the TV

Simon has built a kitchen dresser, and a desk for my study, and I am thrilled with both pieces. They have exceeded my expectations. We are delighted with our furniture made by Simon Nicholl. It was a pleasure working with Simon to design the furniture to our requirements. He had lots of very professional suggestions, visiting our home and welcoming us to his workshop. We.commissioned Simon to make two pieces of furniture for us. One is a unit to hold AV equipment and accessories and designed to fit around a wall breast. The other is a free standing cabinet. Each piece is superb and of extremely high quality. For both jobs we were impressed by Simon's friendly but professional approach. We had a reasonable idea of what we wanted, but needed Simon's eye for design to turn them into pieces that are good looking and functional. After an initial site visit, developing the designs involved several exchanges by email and we felt he fully understood where we were coming
