SEC was founded in 1955 by Mr John Rubython, the small electrical business worked as a subsidiary to a much larger engineering company (Service Engineering Company) hence the 'SEC'. In the early 1980's two former apprentices (Jeff Mayo and Ian Shepperdson) oversaw a split from the main company and started working on 'niche' contracts within the Aggregates and Quarrying Sector.
