As well as being specialists in the cleaning of stone and brick we also carry out the following works. Specialist Masonry (Stone & Brick) Cleaning using the DoFF/Thermatech Ultra High Temperature, low pressure cleaning system & a wet blast system (similar to the JoSS Torque system). Conservation work on listed buildings and ancient monuments especially when having to work with traditional materials such as hydraulic lime rather than cement.

Graffiti Removal - Using environmentally friendly chemicals and the DoFF/ThermaTech cleaning system we can remove all forms of graffiti. We specialise in working on listed buildings and ancient monuments where care must be taken not to destroy the fabric of the building. Removal of Paint from Timber Beams - Strip wooden beams either prior to treating for woodworm or just to leave a natural finish.

This farmhouse was originally covered in a modern thermoplastic masonry paint that was flaking, holding in the moisture and had become an eyesore. The masonry paint was removed using a ThermoTech (DoFF) superheated water cleaning system to reveal the remnants of the limewash underneath. At this point there were two options; either remove the limewash to reveal the natural stone or re cover in a breathable paint.
This limestone cottage unfortunately had a car come around a bend a little too fast and it ended up in the porch - which had to be removed. Whilst carrying out the removal work it was decided not to re-instate and just to clean the front up to make it match. The organic matter was removed using our DoFF / ThermaTech superheated water cleaning system and then the joints were repointed using an NHL 3.5 - hydraulic lime mix.
The following monuments were cleaned using a DoFF (similar to Thermatech) Super Heated Water Cleaning System to remove all organic growth (mosses / algaes / lichens) from the stonework without the use of chemicals. Once cleaned we were able to identify whether further works were required to restore / repair and consolidate the monuments.
Removing Limewash from brick and stone can be a difficult task if you don't want to damage the brick or stone. The problem lies in that it may have bonded really well in some areas whilst being loose and flakey in other areas.
Have you ever had one of those days - you feel really good about yourself and self satisfied because you've finished the decorating then THIS HAPPENS : The first thought that goes through your mind is probably something like 'Bother & Damnation'! First things first - clean up what you can whilst it is still wet - the less you have to deal with later the easier it will be.
