We employed Mark to put a dormer window and bathroom in our loft space. We have found Mark to be pleasant but Mark lacks communication skills.
The building work that Mark has completed is of a good standard. We have constantly had to ask what is being done though. The spotlights have not been put in where we wanted them to be. Mark left the job after a few weeks and said that he wouldn't come back until the flooring was down. This had never been communicated to us sooner or we would have organised this sooner. The electrician that Mark employed moved spotlights, left marks in the newly plastered walls and put a light switch on upside down! The plasterer also left bumps in the walls. I have constantly chased Mark for a date for when the plumber would come back to finish the work. I messaged Mark and provided a month's notice for when the flooring would be going down and asked Mark for a date so that we could arrange time off work to be at home. The plumber did not arrive yesterday as planned, no call nothing. We had to chase Mark and apparently the plumber is off sick with a bad back. No one had the common decency to let us know. A skip was outside our house for 2 months and we have had to sort the removal with the skip company ourselves, rubbish was left outside our house for about 6 weeks. I could go on but I would not recommend Mark and the experience has been really stressful.
Mark is now ignoring my messages. No electrical installation certificate received for electrical work completed and it is going to cost us an additional amount of money to correct the issues.
