In 1854, Joseph Hopson opened a furniture business on West Street, Newbury, which provided a delivery service to its customers' homes, making it the original removals service. In 1886, just around the corner, Alfred Camp opened his Drapery Bazaar on Northbrook Street. These businesses ran separately until Paul Hopson, grandson of Joseph, married Norah Camp, daughter of Alfred, in 1920.

The removal guys were fast, efficient, friendly, helpful and didn’t moan at anything - not even the 6.5ft wall they had to lift the furniture up onto to get it into the property, or the 50 plus potted plants that they had to carry up the steep garden.
They made what could have been an extremely stressful day run like clockwork and reassured us all the way that everything was ok.
We’re really pleased we chose them to move us from Hampshire to Wales. We would recommend them 100%.

I cannot thank Camp Hopson Removals enough.
After initially moving us out & putting our processions in their storage facilities, 6 weeks later they’ve moved us back in
They arrived very promptly & quickly started unloading. Nothing was too much trouble, everything was placed where we wanted it, everything that was taken apart for moving was put back together like beds, washing machine etc.
They took great care of everything, and didn’t damage anything!
They were fantastic!

Camp Hobsons have no covid planning and have clearly not considered their response meaning people are completely left in the lurch with no support at the last minute.
On 16/12 Camp Hobsons arrived to do a pack of our 4 bed house the day before our move I mentioned my 9 yo had had a positive lateral flow test (and of course we would make him sit in the garden and all the windows would be open) ,that we were triple jabbed and negative - and we hadn’t had any PCR results back yet. No-one had called prior to ask about our covid status. They then refused to do the pack or move and that was it! This

Great service right from the first phone call. Everyone was very friendly, and patiently answered our numerous questions. On the day of the move, the team arrived exactly on time, and were very professional, nothing was too much trouble, and took excellent care of our belongings. I can highly recommend them, and we think they represent great value for the service they offer. Would definitely use again

The team were so careful with all of our belongings and packed everything up really well so that it was easy to sort at the other end. Very friendly and helpful team on both days of our 2-day move. They even took all the empty boxes and packaging away with them at the end, which made for much less of a chaotic house! I will definitely book them again for future moves. Worth every penny.
