Africa Roofing supply both natural and synthetic materials for thatched buildings and structures. Cape Reed is a completely natural, environmentally friendly South African thatch. If you require an artificial thatch material, we offer Fibre Thatch and Fibre Palm as options, plus combination thatch - a hybrid product which combines natural Cape Reed with a top layer of artificial thatch.
Cape reed thatch is a totally natural, environmentally friendly product. The thatching reed is harvested from a replenishable, renewable source, and harvesting promotes growth. Fabricated into tiles, Cape Reed thatch is an excellent method of creating a thatched roof structure without the cost and time associated with a traditional thatched roof.
Fibre Thatch is a new innovation and is perfect if you want the look of traditional thatch with added life expectancy and minimal maintenance. Fibre Thatch is a simulated thatch made from UPVC Polymer, and comes in an easy-to-use tile format. Fibre Thatch tiles are quick and easy to install - no special tools or skills are needed.
Artificial palm leaf, also known as Fibre Palm is an artificial thatch product which imitates palm leaves and has a tropical island aesthetic. It is manufactured into tiles, and boasts maximum life expectancy with minimal maintenance. Fibre Palm was developed as a realistic, long-lasting artificial palm leaf thatch replacement for natural leaf thatch mediums such as cape reed.
Africa Roofing use select timbers in the manufacturing of our products, chosen for their high performance in outdoor environments, as well as their aesthetic qualities. Our fencing and handrails are manufactured from South African grown, non-toxic, CCA pressure treated eucalyptus timber. We also offer a range of Scandinavian Redwood construction components.
