We understand that choosing a company to restore your windows and doors is an important decision to make. At Heritage Window Restorations, we have over twelve years of experience in window repair and restoration so not only do we have the skills to apply our trade; but we also have the knowledge to make them last.
More modern sash windows use spiral balances instead of sash cord, these are a metal spring inside a plastic tube. Over time they become week and snap. We are qualified to use the very best window resins and we only use good quality joinery grade timber. It is also possible to bring original windows up to modern environmental standards without harming any features of historical value. Draft proofing, traditional shutters and heavy curtains improve energy efficiency and reduce noise transmission.
We glaze all timber framed windows and doors. We use all types of glass including all the popular patterns as well as your standard float glass. We can also fit restoration glass which has that gentle wobble to match the original glass. In some cases we can machine your original window to take our slim lime double glazed units, Once fitted you can hardly tell your windows are double glazed.
After having your windows restored new window furniture is essential. As well as making your windows look great it also has the added benefit of being a visual deterrent for possible intruders and with the locking facility on some of our catches added security too. Most house insurance now states that all windows and doors must have a lock with removable key.

I can't recommend highly enough. Their skills are a joy to watch. They renovated and rebuilt some very old sash windows ad rotten cills in our grade II listed house and the work was sensitive to the age of the property. Friendly helpful and tidy!

Very happy to recommend Mark. He quoted based on some photos of a rotten windowsill frame that I needed repaired and managed to squeeze me in despite having a full diary. He did a very thorough job and was extremely professional and helpful. Very reasonable too. Wouldn’t hesitate to use him again.
