Martin is a highly qualified and experienced locksmith with a great depth of specialist knowledge, including 24 years in the British army. The normal cause of this problem is a dropped door, where hinges have moved or failed or a faulty lock mechanism; these can be dealt with but a general rule is if it's difficult to operate, get it seen to. Normally caused by a faulty locking mechanism; any good locksmith can sort this out for you. This will be caused by a failed locking mechanism in the majority of cases, but can be remedied with a minimum of damage.
Normally on the opposite side to the handle, either top, bottom or both, caused by the friction stays (hinges) being worn and requiring replacement; you do NOT require new windows and the parts are carried by our engineers. A draughty window can be made as good as new in under an hour. Normally caused by a broken window mechanism, it can be opened and the mechanism replaced.
Broken keys can be extracted but not always, every effort will be made to extract the key before others measures are taken. Lock may be old or worn, getting keys cut using non-original keys can also cause problems. If your lock problem is not listed here, then just contact us for help (we've seen it all!)

The kitchen tubular latch broke and the kitchen door could not be opened. Martin came as soon as soon as he finished another job. We thought it would require the dismantling of the door frame because there was no room between the door and the frame to get anything thin enough to push the lock to open. What did we know about locks! Martin got to work with his tools and within five minutes the door was open. No mess, no fuss, no damage. Martin is a true Master of his trade.

I've used MYLock Locksmiths twice now and been very pleased both times. The first was to replace failing front and back door locks during lockdown last year and more recently to repair a conservatory lock. Snapping my key in my front door wasn't the best thing I've done this year. A quick call and Martin from MYLock Locksmiths was at my address within 15 mins.
