We were established in 1851 by George Bryan Burrow and we currently have the 8th generation of the family working within the business. Things have changed a bit from the photograph you can see on our homepage with the horse and cart on Aynam Road in Kendal. The business started to move forward in the 50's and 60's with another George Bryan Burrow or Bryan as he was known to family, friends and within the town.
Glyn has been working in the family business since he was at school. He went into partnership with his Dad in the 80's and now runs the business. He is now mainly office based and is quite often the 1st port of call for customers when arranging their moves. Glyn's main interests include snooker, rugby union and following Sunderland AFC.

We were moving a long way, to the north of Scotland. The whole service provided from start to finish could not have been bettered. The men worked extremely hard (it’s a blooming hard job) and they were kind, careful, and professional throughout the two day removal. Lee explained everything very clearly and any queries I had were answered promptly. The price was really good for an extended removal to a remote place too. All our stuff was looked after carefully. No drama just a really great service.

A fantastic service, moving us from Kendal to Shrewsbury. The team right from the initial quote were so friendly and accommodating.
On the day we moved the team were punctual, courteous, and rapid. Taking care of all our prized possessions.
They arrived at our new property at the time they stated, (even helping the old people carry their last few bits out) and unloaded everything quickly and efficiently.
We really couldn't fault anything about the whole experience.

Absolutely fantastic removals company, professional, careful and very punctual. Their work ethic is second to none, they moved us from a cottage in Windermere with limited access using their fleet of small vans. They then transferred our belongings to a large standard removal vehicle for the journey to Devon. The entire job was carried out over two days and their timings only went adrift by 10 minutes on the second day (when they were early!) We can not recommend them enough.

As a family over the years we must have used GB Burrow & Sons 5 or 6 times. Burton in Kendal to Bowness, Leeds to Kendal, when moved from Kendal I used them for storage for 6 months, then everything taken out of storage and delivered to Bowness, and parents just used them a few months back for their move from Crook to Windermere. Every time its been a fantastic service from a friendly and professional family company.

Wow, what can we say! Glyn, and his team could not have made our furniture removal any easier. From the moment they started (bang on time) to the last piece in its final resting place, the professionalism of each and every member of the five man team could not have been better. Nothing was damaged, nothing got wet in really horrible weather & a special shout out to Lee & Rylan putting up with my indecisiveness of where things were going at the finish. A tip is to provide the lads with a brew & a Tunnock caramel wafer biscuit at regular intervals and they will be on your side. (Never known any tradesman

Quality defined. Moving house is such a stressful time and these guys make it easy. Very professional, yet extremely approachable and helpful staff. Maximum care was taken with all my belongings and how they get all that stuff in the back of their vans is beyond me.. it's a Tardis in there! Burrows are worth their weight in gold, can highly recommend for anyone looking to for a stress free move
