Sangwyn is passionate about creating beautiful outdoor spaces, transforming otherwise lost or unusable gardens into fully functional and enjoyable extensions of the home. We have developed a wide network of clients, associated experts and contractors over the years and Sangwyn has developed some fantastic gardens in enviable areas of London and Wiltshire.

As part of our service, we offer ongoing maintenance contracts. This helps us to work practically, as well as creatively, to ensure that our designs are implemented with ongoing maintenance and longevity in mind.

The garden was designed to open up the space and create an area for socialising and relaxing. Tiered green oak planters have been constructed to create height and structure, with formal planting using a small number of species to produce a serene but visually diverse environment. Black bamboo provides a screen all around the perimeter, and a solitary feature palm stands in a purpose-built planter within the main deck area.
The brief in this case was to extend the base area of the garden by reclaiming a portion of the bank, which was planted, but otherwise unsuable. Sangwyn's approach was to excavate as much ground as was allowed by the mature trees inhabiting the bank area, constructing a reinforced concrete wall on heavy footings, with a vertical green-oak sleeper wall that cascades down several levels.
The brief in this instance was to create an exercise bar to be used by the whole family (including the children). A simple solution was required, so as not to visually over-power the play structure that is already in place, and to complement the current landscape. We sourced play-grade timber posts and stainless steel bars, suitable to support the weight of adults training on the structure.
We were asked to create a useable and practical garden to replace the existing front garden bank in Ramsbury, Wiltshire. Additional space was reclaimed at the driveway level, providing more space for parking. This new surface was laid with a contrasting stone which ties in with the colours of the bricks that cap the walls, and the crushed slate used around the paving.
Our second Notting Hill project was to design and dress a garden which was to be constructed by the contractor undertaking an appartment refurbishment. The original boundary walls were rather uneven and required visually 'straightening'. This was achieved by mounting cedar brackets, with varying profile depths, to create a raised trellis with a more even appearance.
