Our Story Report

Highbury Design began in Nottingham in 1987, owner Nick had been working for 'Hillarys Blinds' and he decided to set up on his own (funnily enough, when Hillarys Blinds long-term Managing Director wanted blinds for his own home he had Highbury Design to do the work!), making blinds and then curtains, artworks and upholstery.

We get clients visiting our Showrooms from all over the country- we make more types of blinds than probably any other blinds firm in the UK, so there are lots to see! We have made curtains for Cruise Ships and Hotels as well as thousands of private homes and our work has been recognised on TV programmes and in national magazines- so our Showrooms are always busy!

Facemasks Report

To support the UK public at this critical time we have turned our skills and production facilities to producing reusable face masks to act as PPE. To feel confident in them, simply drop them in boiling water for a minute, straight out of the pack and a few minutes later they'll be dry enough to use!

Wooden Venetian Blinds Report

We offer three types of handmade wooden blinds - well, one is actually a 'faux wood' so there's even no risk of warping!. Our Luxmader wood blinds are made from the same timber as our Japanese Shoji Sliding Panel Blinds. There are 50 colours in this hand-made range, all made from Obeche wood, which is one of the most lightest weight timbers on the planet!

Curtain Panel Blinds Report

Our Curtain Panel Blinds are on our Panel blind headrails and are a perfect way to display beautiful fabrics. Let's face it, curtains don't show off expensive fabrics! It's a good idea to blend patterned panels with plain and it can keep the cost down, particularly if the plain is simple 'Roller Blind' fabrics.

We love our new Shoji wardrobe doors, they have transformed our bedroom. So unique and great quality. Service was fantastic from both Nick and Andy. Came all the way up to Edinburgh to install our doors and couldn't have been more friendly. Would highly recommend.

We have a small one bedroomed conversion flat that had a kitchen alcove opening into a lounge /diner area.Nick has created and fitted a simple but beautiful Japanese screen which fits perfectly, takes up very little space, and actually appears to make the room look bigger! We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome and would recommend Highbury Designs for a job well done.

I have used Highbury for the last 16 years. Jon turns up with his books, measures the windows and then returns with beautiful bespoke blinds. It is hassle free and best of all my blinds make my windows look lovely.

Excellent service, very nice chaps. Quick and easy to order, no fuss installation. I had custom Japanese Shoji screens to separate my studio apartment, and 6 custom blinds, all excellent quality. Couldn't recommend them enough!
