Walker Timber and Fencing Centre is a locally run family business based in Birkby, Huddersfield. Now run by Mark and Michelle Walke, r the fourth generation of Walkers, who took over from Mark's father Richard and mother Liz who retired after heading the firm for well over 30 years.
Originally started in the 1930s by Mark's great grandfather Joseph, we've gone from strength to strength to become one of Huddersfield's premier specialist Timber outlets.At our main base on Spinkfield Road, Huddersfield, the timber yard stocks a wide verity of goods. And this is now complemented with our new second site just 2 minutes away.
From fence panels & trellis, tanalised fencing, rails & posts, grooved decking and sleepers, planed & sawn white & red woods, floor & skirting boards, sheet materials plaster and plasterboards, insulation, concrete posts. As well as our on site shop carrying all the tools and fixings you need to get the job done!

As one of Huddersfield's longest established family run timber companies, Walkers has been a part of the town for nearly 100 years. Walker Timber has constantly supplied a whole range of timber products to the local community, to both trade and public, from the base in Birkby. Mark Walker, who heads the family business, said: We stick to what we know, which is wood.
We hold large stocks of treated softwood and timber decking, joists and balustrades which can be delivered to you in a very short space of time. As well as our latest addition Deckz decking made from solid-composite grain. Incredibly strong, durable, and long lasting as well as coming in a wide range of finishes and designs.
Walker Timbers Contracts Division is a complimentary addition to its retail side and is fully C I S registered. As well as supplying the likes of Kirklees Council, Huddersfield N H S Trust and Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing with timbers. Through Walker Timber Fencing Division, we also offer a professional competitive a supply and fit service for both domestic and commercial.
Due to the ongoing pandemic and other events going on in the world, prices are fluctuating on an almost daily basis. So until things return to normal we have had to take the decision to temporarily take down our price list.
