Painting and decorating has been our craft since 1959. Over the years we have broadened our service offering to include the complete renovation of residential and commercial properties. John Campbell Lindsay established the business in 1959 and laid down the company values of craftsmanship, client service and professional ethics.
Our business was built on painting and decorating, and we believe we're masters of our craft. Every interior decoration project we undertake is carried out meticulously from the initial preparation to the final coat of paint. How we approach each job is as important to us as the work itself. JC Lindsay undertake eternal restoration and decoration for residential and commercial properties to impeccable standards. We employ the highest levels of craftsmanship and ensure we adhere to building regulations and listed building compliance. Our clients include the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre at Castlehill and Christ Church at Holy Corner, both in Edinburgh.
When we undertake a home refurbishment our craftsmen will always aim to exceed our clients' expectations. Our heritage lies in painting and decorating, which is always the last task in any refurbishment, but we know that to achieve the perfect finish, every step in the process must be carried out correctly and with the end result in mind.

We recently had our external paintwork redone by J.C.Lindsay. Some of our wood work was in a bad state and required a lot of prep which was meticulously carried out by Ricky and his apprentice, Ben. Both Chris and Ricky kept us well informed as to the progress of the work and we are very happy with the result. We would have no hesitation in recommending J.C.Lindsay.

Chris Green took over the refurbishment of our flat after we had to get rid of the previous contractor, whose work was shoddy and who continually refused to answer emails, texts and phone calls. Following a recommendation, we asked Chris to take over with some apprehension, as few builders are prepared to do that, and owing to Covid we were unable to meet him for two months, but had to rely on emails and phone calls. I recently used JC Lindsay to renovate and redecorate my flat in Sciennes. From start to finish they were absolutely excellent. When I met with Chris initially he had some great ideas and totally understood what I was wanting to do with the place. They were easy and quick to communicate with, the price was very competitive, and when the work stalled due to covid Chris kept me totally up to date. Chris and his team did an entire top to bottom renovation of my house, including every room and virtually every trade including painting, joinery, plumbing, electrics etc. Chris himself is an excellent project manager who has great people at his disposal for each task. Outstanding on every level from first contact until completion of job - communication, reliability, level of service, quality of workmanship, value for money, and perhaps most importantly, and what makes the real difference, empathy with the client. We have used Lindsay's several times in the past. This was a big job - complete outside painting of our house. They were great. They pointed out some timberwork in poor condition and offered to get their joiner to fix it. This is the kind of initiative I appreciate.
