Here, we removed a cement tender and replaced with a beautiful sand and lime harling coat. By resurfacing the interior wall in lime plaster we maximised the paints long-term adhesion. Well respected fresco and mosaic artist Aidan Hart created this wonderful art piece. Built in sandstone rubble with stone slate roofs, St. Peters is an active Grade I listed Anglican parish church.
Chestnut laths, coated in a haired lime (sustainable and hand riven) re-fixed to the ceiling and finished with a lime-rich skim coat. Ceilings lathed in our chestnut and three coat Lime plaster. Walls skimmed in Lime / silver sand and Portland stone dust directly onto the stone (5 mm thick). This was finished with a wooden float and the cornice and strapwork were all carried out in situ by hand in lime and sand.
