Spey Building & Joinery

Spey Building and Joinery is based in the Highland village of Kingussie in the Cairngorm National Park and some 45 miles from Inverness. We offer building services to both residential and commercial clients across Scotland and specialise in one off bespoke buildings. Wherever possible we promote the use of environmentally friendly materials and practices and we are able to carry out a range of carpentry in our own specialist workshop.

We aim to offer the complete package to our client from conception to completion. We can offer the client an architectural package and guide them through the process involving planning requirements, building warrants and structural elements. We offer a professional service with Health and Safety, insurances, a skilled and trained workforce and an in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of materials and systems.

We enjoy in particular the unique and sometimes challenging project and will work closely with all stakeholders to overcome possible obstacles in an effort to realise the client's aspirations. Our experience in creating energy-efficient homes is broad and has depth. Many of our new builds are found in rural locations which can require the provision of wells or bore holes, septic tanks, sewage systems and energy producing solutions.

Although most of our projects belong in the two previous categories the commercial work we have carried out has been quite diverse, creating a modern observation hide on stilts for the RSPB, large concrete and steel-framed cattle sheds for local farmers and modern industrial units for office and retail use with lifts and basements.

In our specialist workshop our skilled staff can produce bespoke furniture to suit our client's tastes and designs. In the photos above bespoke bookshelves hide a door leading to a secret washroom! Staircases and other unique structures can be made where we may work alongside other skilled technicians (for example, fabrication engineers) to produce the perfect accompaniment to your dream project.
