Heritage Roofing Services is a family run business, owned by Stephen Wright, who has over 25 years' experience with Collyweston Slating. We have several teams of Traditional Collyweston Slaters who all have years of Collyweston slate experience. We develop all of our team and pass on our knowledge of traditional slating to keep the trade passing from generation to generation.

Collyweston Slate Report

Heritage Roofing Services use traditional methods for Collyweston Stone Slate roofing. Existing Collyweston roofs are hand stripped by skilled Collyweston Slaters, before each slate is individually dressed by hand and re-holed ready to be used again. Collyweston Stone Slate roofs are laid in diminishing courses, sized by hand, on a lime mortar mix.

Blue Slate Report

We offer all services related to Blue Slate roofs, from re-slating to repairs and maintenance. Generally we carry a stock level of around 20,000 high quality, hand sorted reclaimed Blue Slates, which have been re-holed and graded into thicknesses by our own team. We have years of experience with all types of Natural slate such as Welsh, Westmoreland, Burlington, Switzerland, Spanish and a range of other naturally quarried slates.

Pantiles Report

Traditional to the East of England, clay pantiles have been used for centuries. They are considered lighter weight than traditional slate roofs and can be used where a lower pitch can cause water ingress issues. Using reclaimed pantiles can maintain the character of a building. We hold a stock of approximately 8000 reclaimed pantiles and corresponding ridge - of various colours.

Lead Work Report

Here at Heritage Roofing Services, our lead work services cover everything from lead flashing to lead roof repairs. Lead has been used for centuries, due to its durability, and is used in a variety of ways from flashings, valleys, abutments, dormer windows to decorative features. All of the lead we use is recycled sandcast lead.

We had a problem with our roof and needed two gulleys replacing. Stephen at Heritage roofing services was very prompt in coming out to us and quoting for the repairs at a reasonable price. When they came to carry out the repair in September 2023 they were prompt and professional and quickly completed the job. There was more work required at no extra cost but this did not phase them. Definitely went the extra mile and we would have no hesitation in using them again.
