Tinted glass often provides nothing more than an aesthetically pleasing appearance, but contributing little to reducing solar heat gain and glare. Air conditioning is a feature of many modern buildings, but high levels of solar gain can place such a load on plant that they become ineffectual, which may be a problem in computer suites, or escalate energy bills.
On this job we were asked to apply blue solar reflective film to stop solar glare and to create a more asthetic look to building by leaving certain windows clear And we achieved what client wanted and it did improve the buildings look This is just to show that colours are available and can look good depending on the project.
With any degree of certainty this is difficult to answer. Glass varies in strength from piece to piece and each cause of breakage varies. So, if a protected window were impacted, yet, failed to break, It would be difficult to determine if the glass alone, the film alone, or the film and glass together resisted the breakage.
