Reliable and competent company offering a prompt and well priced service.
They expertly replaced the top part of a split double glassed sash window, coming out to measure the next day, keeping me informed that the order of the replacement window would take about 10 days, called me when the new window pane had arrived and fitted it the next day. A job very well done.

Had a major problem this morning, locked my self out and was desperate for help to get a ladder to access my window which was opened,
went to the lads in Ames glass on lordship lane, very odd request for a glazier, guess what , they turned up in 5 minutes with ladders and which allowed me access.
I cannot express enough how thankful I am to them, they are the perfect example of your local business which interacts with the local community, I have used them in past the for glazing works and have always
found them efficient, professional and extremely good value for money.
I would not hesitate

I placed a couple of orders with Ames but I got disappointed by their customer service.
I sent a drawing for a glass top of 15mm with full rounded edges (specifically writing 7.5mm rad), but I received a glass with an imperceptible curve.
I now understand that they couldn't make it, but I spent £373 on something that I didn't want.
I think I should have been advised about what they were going to deliver before taking the money.
I asked for the glass to be taken back or at least some sort of compensation as their pro-forma invoice was saying "All done to customers’ spec." but according to

First class in every respect:
I have been privileged to be helped by Ames Glass in Lordship lane for around 40 years, and whist no doubt their smallest and most intermittent customer, who only comes with the smallest of jobs- and then only every few years, -they unfailingly give me top service and do a top job.
This morning I took in a picture with broken glass. Bob removed it from the frame and replaced it with new, and had it ready to be hung again for me within the hour.- all without any fuss and at a very reasonable cost.
Thank you, Bob.
We are so lucky to have Ames Glass locally- just

Found this people online and we trusted written reviews. These people will take your money after fitting the glass and if you did not check properly their work, they will not care for you and if you insist for them to come back, they will say F**OFF and will hang up the phone. They left 2mm gap between frame and glass, easy for the keys to go in!!!

Completely unreliable. I've now waited in for them twice only for them to not show up to the pre-booked appointment.
First time, I'd taken a day off work and they only bothered to call in the afternoon to say they wouldn't make it. Second time, I had to call them to find out where they were to be told someone was off sick and they wouldn't make it (they claimed they'd tried to call me but I'd had no missed calls, and no voicemails). Not even apologetic in the slightest.
I won't be trying to schedule an appointment a third time so can't comment on their
