My name is Matthew Hitches and I am an architectural technician with over 20 years experience. I provide an architecturaI design service to produce all kinds of architect's drawings and documentation for planning permission, Building Regs etc. I have worked alongside some of the best architects in Pembrokeshire and have been involved with many building projects across South Wales, including within Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

I believe that good architecture does not have to cost a fortune in architect's fees and it is important to get the right balance between artistic flair and practicality. With my local knowledge and understanding of the planning system, I am able to produce architect's plans for your property that will have a realistic chance of being approved.

Obtaining planning permission is becoming increasingly complicated, but with my knowledge and expertise I can guide you through the process smoothly. I produce architectural drawings (CAD) from my home office in Stepaside, near Tenby, Pembrokeshire.
Services
If you are looking to convert or extend a building you will need a measured building survey to produce existing drawings of the property. I can undertake a measured survey of your property and produce the drawings to a high degree of accuracy. I have surveyed hundreds of properties ranging from barns and houses to shops and hotels.
I am happy to produce architectural drawings and designs for other architects and surveyors. During their busy periods, local architects have asked me to survey buildings and produce measured survey drawings as well as design proposals on their behalf. I would be happy to provide you with a fixed fee for any projects that you need assistance with.
Obtaining planning permission and Building Regs approval can be a tricky process often requiring several different consultants to get involved such as ecologists, structural engineers, arboriculturalists etc. Having obtained planning approval on hundreds of projects, including within the notorious Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, I can help co-ordinate the whole design process using reputable consultants to make the application a success.
This old roof built circa 1950 had seen better days. The gable end had a poorly constructed chimney stack. The roof structure has now been re-engineered and we installed a full-height apex window in place of the old chimney stack. The loft area is now used as a very comfortable home-office with views of the surrounding woodland.
