Grant has previously plastered walls of another house for us before with perfect results so we didn't hesitate to call him again now to plaster a hall ceiling in a different house. He's a really nice person, arrived nice and early, put dust sheets down in the whole area and got on with the job. Unfortunately its a very old uneven ceiling and he came across structural problems where parts of the ceiling fell away.
Lime Rendering: Lime Rendering and Heritage Lime Render Restoration is carried out externally to historical and old buildings to allow the substrate underneath and the structure to breathe, this reduces damp and allows trapped moisture to escape and evaporate. Trapped moisture is detrimental to the structure of the building.
The rendering can be finished as a plain face render or can be finished in a decorative stucco texture. Detailing features from Ashlar panels, Ashlar imitation block work, Quoin Stones, Key Stones and render bands can produce a variety of exciting features that can make your house look very attractive.

The Coloured Scrape Back Renders are polymer and silicone modified materials which are moisture resistant but still allow moisture vapour to evaporate externally through the material.

Grant’s attention to details and passion for his work is second to none. I’m typically hard to please when it comes to building works. But there wasn’t a single thing that I wished Grant did differently. He even came back a few times after the work was done and he was paid to ensure the lime plaster was drying well. 100% recommended.

Grant removed old render from back of Victorian cottage and replaced with lime with ashlar finish. He then sorted out a badly cracked and unloved interior bedroom wall again in lime with excellent finish results. His price stuck to the original quotes, he was very tidy, a quick worker, excellent communicator and a friendly person! Thanks, Grant. :-)

Grant took a wall back to the brickwork and replastered in lime, made replacement picture rails and redecorated. Really impressed with his knowledge of his craft and material. Grant's work is of the highest quality, and he's a pleasure to be around.

Grant plastered the rear walls of two of my bedrooms in lime. Very friendly, keeping my rooms clean and on time. Super smooth finishing work. High quality materials. Much appreciated.
It is difficult to find a heritage plasterer, but this one is a good one. If you have a Victorian house, you need to keep this guy in your contacts for restoring your outside walls. Trouble with moisture and salts will likely await you a few months down the line if you use the modern pink coloured stuff for the internal plasterwork. Old houses want the right materials, when redecorating.
