Staff have suitable PPE and sanitiser to use during visits and we must follow safe distance guidance. As with everything please ensure you maintain social distancing from our staff. We are a family run Electrical company with over ten staff working mainly in East Kent. Our area of operations is Canterbury and the surrounding areas including; Faversham, Ashford, Dover, Whitstable, Sandwich and Herne Bay.
Most of our electricians trained with us as apprentices and we are committed to expanding the company with the emphasis on training. As NICEIC Approved Contractors since 1981 (for Domestic, Commercial and Industrial work) our qualified staff take a pride in all aspects of customer care, including our 24 hour emergency service.

Services
Why is it that we service our cars regularly, but expect our electrical installations to go on for decades with no attention whatsoever? A lot of the callouts we get could be avoided if the installations were properly designed, installed and maintained. A brand new installation may be certified for up to ten years but after that a retest interval of five years is usual.
The Electricity at Work Regulations are nearly twenty years old. In spite of this many businesses have poor electrical installations with the potential for major expense later on. Sometimes this is simply a lack of awareness and sometimes a conscious decision to avoid expense. All too often we see loss of life, damage to premises and equipment failures.
If you are involved in the administration of buildings with public access you may be required to provide certificates as part of a licensing scheme. Where this is not required you need to be aware of your responsibilities under the duty of care. Any claim from a member of public will be viewed in the light of evidence you can produce to show you have taken all reasonable steps for their safety.
Periodic Inspection Report for an Electrical Installation -now called an Electrical Condition Report. This is used to report on the safety condition of the existing installation. It should not be used to certify new work. The maximum recommended interval between reports is 10 years, commonly 5 years unless the installation is new.
The main point is to protect life. To achieve this one needs early warning and safe exit from the building. Hence you need the right system, properly installed and kept in working order. We offer a full service of design, installation, verification and maintenance for all types and sizes of installation.

OUTSTANDING COMPANY I hired Goldfinch just before Christmas 21, knowing how busy everyone is and how hard it can be to source anything needed at present i had no expectations of the job being done anytime in the next two weeks. However the job was done finished all my questions answered promptly. They fitted three storgae heaters into a 1757 built cottage. Invoices very clear and organised. Not to mention how tidy they were working and clearing up they did a fabulous job. Would definitely recommend this company. Lovely firm well established.
