With our modern fleet of vehicles, plant and machinery we have direct links to the M5 and the South West Region. We have a dedicated team of management and tradesmen who hold a wealth of experience and take pride in setting a high calibre of workmanship.
Harris Bros and Collard Ltd, also known as HBC, were founded in 1946. The company built many of the housing estates in and around Bridgwater and the surrounding villages.

The company also became contractors as well as developers and have built many well known buildings, including the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton, refurbishment of Angel Crescent in Bridgwater, re-siting of Admiral Blake Statue in Bridgwater, construction of St. Francis Church and Bridgwater Catholic Church as well as numerous other public and industrial buildings.
We acknowledge that works within this sector require a dedicated and driven approach, with time of the essence on each project. We demonstrate evidence of experience and success in this field, serving clients such as Travis Perkins Group, The Southern Co-Op and Marshall Audi on a frequent basis to meet the bespoke needs of their businesses and stores.
Ever since our company first established, we have been renowned for our residential services. We hold a vast level of experience in constructing both speculative and large scale development new build schemes for either private developers or local authorities. We are NHBC registered housebuilders and provide our clients with 'turnkey' or 'built to order' options.
We appreciate that historic buildings require a high level of workmanship and traditional craft skills. Our extensive experience within this sector includes ecclesiastical, conservation, monuments and fortifications. Our operatives demonstrate the technical practicalities needed to conserve traditional buildings, holding vast experience in tasks such as lime plastering, dry stone walling, stone masonry and leadwork.
