Elephant & Monkey

A Mother and daughter team, Bridget and Rowena have always had a shared passion for Mid 20th Century in 2009 Elephant and Monkey opened, originally as a shop based in Cornwall and six months later we launched our website. Now 9 years later, Bridget's husband Keith is running our sister site paperelephant.co.uk, selling mid 20th century artworks, and our business is in North Yorkshire and is only on the internet.

Right from the start we have been very keen on up-cycling - restoring and re-inventing furniture to give it a new lease of life - using contemporary fabrics, glass and colour to make pieces relevant and practical for today. We use vintage textiles to create room canvases, cushions and lampshades to add a splash, so you can create amid-century accent to your room without changing all your furnishings.
