With roots from East London, Metro Ltd. was established in 1980 and has been continuously led by the Nelson family for over 36 years. With prolonged experience in UK manufacturing and engineering, along with the capabilities, knowledge and skills of all our team, we are able to produce a variety of quality contract lighting products and other engineered products for high end, commercial and residential use.
At Metro Ltd. our vast experience gives us the ability to create fantastic custom lighting products. With our team's skills working alongside our Designers/Design partners we accomplish creating bespoke lighting products based on our customers' specific requirements. We take pride in that most of what we produce, is manufactured in house, here in the South East of England.
After years of predominantly manufacturing lighting products, we expanded our services into the non-lighting world of engineering. Our vast array of skills has enabled us to do this successfully, and due to popular demand, is now a service we are proud to continuously provide. I worked there back in 2000 as a Semi skilled Sheet Metal Worker, I'd never worked with lighting before, eventually I worked with drawing after drawing and much machinery and realised that these guys (Metro Lighting) don't mess around when it comes to quality and pioneering concepts + will never say NO to a job no matter how large or small. This applied to lighting and signage indoor or outdoor stuff and they are responsible for the lights on the then "Millennium Dome" which is now the 02 Arena (I had a hand in making those too partially).
