J E Putney and Sons were awarded the contract to carry out the restoration of 3 lath and plaster ceilings throughout the building. The existing, water damaged ceilings were removed carefully to expose the original timber joists. J E Putney and sons were awarded the contract to carry out the making goods to all walls and ceilings to over 600 rooms & 5 miles of corridors throughout the building, using traditional lime plaster.

Three coats of lime haired Plaster were applied to the walls with a sponge rustic finish to blend seamlessly into the existing areas of the Church. J.E. J.E. Putney & Sons is a well-established and highly respected family run business specialising in all forms of traditional lime plastering. The business was established in 1956 by the late Joseph Putney and has been owned and managed by his eldest son Kevin since 1997. It is now in its fourth generation of Putney's.
