REtroVIVE
At Devana Insulation we designed the Retrovive underfloor insulation system to be a truly effective solution to cold and draughty floors, a common problem in most period homes. As specialist installers of blown insulations, we were often asked to retrofit insulation into difficult-to-access parts of houses.

Retrovive is our unique answer for floors. Traditional suspended timber ground floors are vented by airbricks in the walls, just above ground level, which means that cold outside air is blowing around underneath and up into the room through all the tiny gaps between floorboards. Over many years and many installations, customers tell us how Retrovive has made everyday life so much more comfortable.

With recent changes to work situations, more people are now sitting still at home for a lot of the day, and are increasingly aware of just how cold that can be. Retrovive works twice to solve the problem, by adding a layer of high-quality insulation directly under the floorboards and by blocking the draughts.
Services
We can insulate your floor by lifting just a few boards, we don't take up the whole floor. We fit unique 'hammocks' between the floor joists to hold our high-performance insulation which is blown tightly into all corners, leaving no gaps. The result is a layer of insulation that keeps the cold draughts OUT and your warm air IN.
Costs are estimated according to variable factors such as the room measurements, the floor-joist depth, distance for us to travel, etc. But most jobs work out between 95 and 120 per square metre. As you may have seen from the video, the process of insulating a suspended timber floor is essentially a small building job.
Our unique system often means we can insulate a room in just a single day - and we leave it clean and tidy. There is minimal disruption and the installation is quicker than taking up the entire floor to install alternative types of insulation. And because we don't disturb skirting boards, there is no need for redecorating afterwards.
Increasingly, we are finding emails go straight into Junk folders but we do want you to know when we have replied to your contact - we take immense pride in responding promptly! So it is helpful to have a phone number that we can use to check that our messages are getting to you. However, if you prefer not to talk on the phone at this stage, we respect that.
