Fascinated by wood at an early age, I spent many happy hours in my dad's workshop tinkering with scraps of timber and learning to cut straight lines with a saw. Early projects included making a small wooden toolbox and refurbishing an old school desk and even then I loved the sense of achievement that working with wood brings.
