All our Sandblasting designs initially begin as pencil sketches that are then drawn out to full scale. Any alterations the customer may wish to make can be done at this stage. Sandblasted windows, door panels and glass partitions can deliver a range of tones from fully obscure to transparent. The technique of using exotic chemical compounds fired into the glass to produce stunning effects of tone and colour gained prominence and popularity during the Renaissance, and has been with us ever since. Here at our studio we combine traditional and modern methods in the construction of our painted panels, ensuring longevity of tone and richness of colour.
This panel is in the process of being restored, the glass being cleaned using deionised water, then the entire panel re-leaded and polished. Due to the extremely long product life span it is inevitable that eventually the ravages of time will take its toll on a window.
