We specialise in made to measure curtain hanging solutions in wrought iron, stainless steel, oak and walnut. The business is based on the designs and craftsmanship of founder Daryl Ford. A blacksmith for 35 years, Daryl started making curtain poles in 1993. From 1994 to 2005 he supplied the John Lewis Partnership with bespoke curtain poles.
In 1996 Daryl invented the passing ring and bracket system to allow a single pair of curtains to be drawn around a bay window. In 2003 he patented his award winning flexible bend, part of a system which allows you to make up your own bay window pole at home. Daryl's wife Judy handles all the admin and IT work and assists with packaging.
The couple met in 1988 and married in 1992. They live on a small holding in North Devon and have two adult daughters. Our products are made in Devon using traditional artisan skills. Quality and durability are fundamental to our product range. We don't offer curtain poles with coloured finishes or metallic coating, because these tend to wear with time.

Services
Rings that pass supporting brackets and strong smooth bends are the key to an effective bay window curtain pole system. Daryl has many years of experience of making bespoke bay window curtain poles. To make the pole to fit your bay, he marks out your bay window measurements, works out where the pole will sit (depending on the length of the brackets) and bends the pole to fit this line.
Daryl acquired the nickname "Dapper Daryl" when he was working in racing and he was looking less than smart one day. As a working blacksmith he is still more comfortable in old clothes! In addition to offering prints, we offer a wrought iron picture rail which is also suitable for tapestries. Please note: All computer monitors display colour differently, so your print may differ in colour or tone from the image you see on your screen.
