Above ground rainwater harvesting systems purpose designed for the urban 'built-up' environment are a relatively new innovation in the UK but are widely used in other countries. At John A Stephens Ltd we stock a wide range of buildings blocks from a selection of block manufacturers. Problem with a down draught or birds nesting in your chimney, not any more with Mad Cowls.
Good thermal insulation will save you money. Regulations for new build specify targets which require high levels of thermal insulation, fundamentally to reduce the amount of energy needed to heat the building which helps to reduce the amount of carbon used. The older a property is, the more likely the poorer the thermal performance of the building envelope.
At John A Stephens Nottingham we can cut or glue bricks into slips or cut and bonded to make doglegs, squints, etc. In our brick cutting service we can offer the following items to personalise your project. We can offer a quick turnaround for Brick Cutting & Bonding to form External or internal angles for bay windows and conservatories and bespoke angles for odd shaped extensions.
We have a branch in West Bridgford it is located on Radcliffe Road, near to Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and next to McDonald's. Our West Bridgford branch stock a wide range of building materials and they have a large area for customer parking. There is also a spacious showroom upstairs which is open to the general public.

Advised to go here by my builder for bricks for our extension. This place is VAST, so much choice! On both occasions, the staff were so helpful and very efficient! I was really impressed with everyone's warm and friendly banter, really nice bunch of folks serving there! Great customer service! Thank you

I’m doing a self build, I had fantastic service from J A Stephens during this Pandemic year, all the staff from ordering over the phone and front counter staff provide a fantastic service, delivery drivers are brilliant.
Their is a shortage of materials but that’s not JAS fault is it.
I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to KATE in the office who has always helped myself by pushing my delivery’s forward, ( when I’ve ordered late ) thank you KATE.

Just had 140 breeze blocks and a 1 ton of sand, 6 bags of cement 2 ballist. Driver wasn't helpful. Asked for this to be put on the drive he said it wasn't long which it was, he had lots of space to do this. Basically couldn't be bothered too. So left on the front where everyone can easily help themselves too.As we have had many deliveries in the past from different companies and everything been put on our drive without a fuss and truck/lorries bigger than Stephens lorry, still be able to put things on our drive. So now we got got to move 140 breeze blocks by hand 1 ton of sand 6 cement bags 2 ballast

Just had a delivery of materials made for our builders.
Very friendly, considerate and made sure he discussed where to drop the goods and that we were happy. He considered leaving space for the garage door to open and suggested we move some items to the back in case of theft.

We have used John A Stephens a number of times over the past few months. The delivery is generally quite prompt and hassle free. All goods have been as expected. However the last delivery person we had was unbelievably rude, I think some training on customer service is needed for this man in particular. Either that or he needs to find himself a job where he isnt needed to communicate with people.

Felt very safe, glad to see that Covid restrictions are observed and visitors safety respected. Fantastic stockholding dispite the challenging times we are in, wish I'd gone there first! As a female, I felt welcome and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful - I did some research before I went in so as not to be completely out of my depth! They had everything I needed and arranged delivery as my vehicle wasn't suitable. Delivery went as planned, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, will be recommending to others too!
