Chances are, if the idea of a pristine, smooth, level wooden floor appeals, we're the people to speak to. Arbor Flooring give honest and open advice about the options available so that you can make an informed decision as to which flooring solution is right for your home. You might only see the top millimetre of a new floor, but what's underneath is important, so your choice should be made armed with a little knowledge.

Solid, parquet, laminate and engineered flooring all have their pros and cons. Alternatively, you'd be really, really surprised how good those old floorboards that have been hidden beneath underlay and carpet for twenty years could look once they've been tended to for a day or so by an expert from our team.

To us, a floor is never 'just a floor'. A good floor sets the tone for the whole room. It's the only part of every room that each visitor touches every time they enter (ok, light switches aside, but you get the gist). Depending on your priority - be that durability, authenticity, economy, ease of cleaning or just simply a great look - we can advise on the best way forward.
Services
At Arbor Flooring St Albans, quality is very much the heart of our ethos: quality of service, quality of products and quality of people. We work in both the residential and commercial sectors; we work on restoring old floors and installing new ones; we deliver the same high standards of quality and attention to detail on every single project.
Floor sanding involves removing the top surfaces of a wooden floor by sanding with abrasive materials, usually sand-paper. At Arbor Flooring, we have the latest dust-free floor sanders capable of restoring your existing wood floors back to their pristine best.
If you are fortunate enough to have existing wood flooring, you will find our services particularly useful. Wooden floor restoration is the process and journey by which old floors are returned to their former glory. With older properties, particularly Victorian terraced houses, over the years there will usually have been much internal alteration, resulting in less than perfect flooring.
When it comes to parquet flooring restoration, we regularly receive calls from home owners who have, for one reason or another, decided to have a look under their existing carpets. Occasionally they may find a parquet floor which they were previously unaware of. Invariably the floor will have been covered up for a number of years prior to the era of double glazing and efficient heating systems.
This basically boils down to whether you are more precious about your walls or your floors. Ideally for us, we would suggest completing any sanding process prior to a room being decorated as inevitably the floor sanders will leave the odd mark on the skirting board. Generally speaking, no matter how large the job, any floor sanding task will take a minimum of a day's work.

After coming to quote, Jon simply became uncontactable when we asked for availability to start. Emails, texts etc all received read receipts but no replies. Not an issue if a contractor is too busy to take on a new project… but at least let customers know! Otherwise it is just wasting everyone’s time coming to quote. At least this happened at quote stage rather than half way through the project with money already on the table

What a great team! Arbor Flooring not only did a fantastic job patching and then sanding our parquet floor after our kitchen renovation, they worked with us and bent over backwards to accommodate our schedule which was quite volatile. Thank you Jon and Rhys for a fantastic job well done

Excellent floor sanding service. The floorboards look as good as new and the service was excellent. This is the second time I have used this company and would recommend them to anyone.

Initial company I used to sand and varnish wood floor in hallway left chatter marks, scarring due to sanding across the grain which is a no-no They also didn't sand the floor enough times to take out the deeper original staining.
Arbor Flooring to the rescue! In 2 days Arbor Flooring rectified all the aforementioned problems and the end result is a stunning wooden floor which I thought was damaged beyond repair. Cannot fault their knowledge and professionalism 10/10.
Photos show before (chatter marks) and after (marks gone)

Jon, thank you for doing a great job! From the very first meeting with you, we found you to be courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. Jon’s team made minimal mess as they polished the floors, which they cleared up at the end of each day. Our floorboards have been renovated and polished to a very high standard and to our satisfaction. Once again, thank you Jon and his team!!!
