Tree stumps can be physically removed at any time. Paying tree surgeons to remove stumps when they are felling the tree is the most convenient way to remove stumps. Chemical stump killers need to be applied to freshly cut wood, so are best applied immediately after felling. Otherwise, they will need to be re-cut before the product is applied.
When it comes t o tree and shrub planting, knowing what to plant and how and where to plant it can make all of the difference. We can source and plant all species of trees in accordance with BS3998 and BS 4043. Our certified arborists whether it be small domestic planting or larger plantations, work with clients to plant tree species that thrive in the landscape, factoring in local climate, soil conditions and short and long-term property goals.
Felling trees is not always as easy as it sounds. Confined spaces with nearby buildings can make the taking down and removal of a tree a complicated business. We always carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to minimise the possibility of collateral damage, in order that our clients are aware of any potential dangers and are in a position to make an informed decision.

Wholetree has undertaken work twice for me. Recently, the company pruned a number of branches off a large ash tree, and reduced the height of a rhododendron hedge. Previously the company cleared a very overgrown shrubbery, removing the roots of the shrubs and small trees, as well as the top-growth. I have been well-pleased with the work on both occasions, and would have no hesitation in recommending Richard and his team.

Drone stuck in Tree!!!
My husband in his wisdom/excitement tried his drone for the first time and not only managed to get the drone stuck up 10m in a very large tree, but the branch it was stuck on was over a busy main road. We made a call to Wholetree, within 30mins he was at said tree, my husband went with him...30mins later he now has his drone back again...fast service, lovely polite man....husband is banned from any built up areas or forests of any kind :)

Work done: Pollarding a willow tree which was growing at 45 degrees over neighbour's garden.
Richard isn’t the type who comes knocking at your door and says “We’re working down the road so the equipment is set up, and I can chop that tree down now for 200 quid …No?, OK, I’ll do it for 100… 75…” etc etc etc.. If you want that approach, go elsewhere.
Richard and the team are professionals. They are highly skilled at what they do, they adhere to safe working practices, and demonstrate an interest in the ecology of the tree and the site.

Richard and Jim skilfully dealt with a large high Oak located close to our house - adjacent to a recently erected (expensively built) garden fence - and removed invasive Holly trees before reducing conifers. Most of this work was done at height - and on the second day in the face of heavy snowfall followed by a freeze. Concerns about damage from falling branches were fully allayed. They know their stuff with damage risks addressed, resulting woodlands looking balanced and ‘natural,’ sunshine flooding into previously dark areas of the garden and no mess. Had an overgrown tree in a bad location removed. Took a while to arrange a day but the job was done efficiently and they even shredded a few branches that I had cut off a different tree myself. Everything was tidied up afterward and the space looks much better without the monster tree! I'll call them again if I need another tree removed. Nice guys and a great price.

I live a long way from the North East and engaged Wholetree after a recommendation from a previous customer. The task involved a large number of trees cut down and pruned in a large garden.
Richard was very easy to deal with and easy to talk to, offering good advice. The work was completed to a good standard at a competitive price, with all left neat and tidy. He will be invited to undertake any further tree work necessary next year. Strongly recommended.

Absolutely first rate service. This is the second time I have used the company to help get my garden under control and again they have saved the day!
