Our sweeps are members of the Guild of Master Sweeps, two of them have NVQ's in chimney sweeping and we are also members of HETAS The Solid fuel safety and standards organisation. We are also HETAS registered installers and Furanflex registered installers. Because of this we we issue a certificate at the end of the sweep for your records which is often asked for by insurance companies.
For those who need a chimney swept we operate an area system where we concentrate on one area at a time and mostly within the Aberdeenshire area. Understandably, with the number of homes having fireplaces opened up and stoves installed we can be busy but give us a call or drop us an email and we'll put you on the sweep list for the next time we are in your area.
We here at K & I Paterson put the emphasis on quality not quantity. We want you to get the best of service and highest quality of components that we can supply. It is for that reason that we choose to be HETAS trained and registered even though in Scotland it is not a requirement for us to be.

Services
Although in Scotland they have no current need to be, all our sweeps and stove fitters are Hetas trained and certified! Hetas are the official body recognised by the British Government to approve biomass and solid fuel heating appliances, fuels and services including the registration of competent installers and servicing businesses.
For most enquiries our duty office administrator is the person to call to get answers. The office is manned during the times noted below and a phone call or email may well be answered out of hours. If you are having problems with your stove or chimney, you may find it helpful to refer to our troubleshooting section to see if you can sort out the problem yourself.
The top down fire or self-feeding fire is a fire building technique that's completely different from building a conventional fire. Typically, when building a fire, you start out with a hand full of crumpled up newspaper and place it under small pieces of kindling. Then you add larger pieces of wood on top of the kindling followed by even larger pieces of wood.

Hi Ian, thanks for your reply, no one's fault really for only giving you 3 stars as Covid has made things difficult, I looked on your website to check if you were open and it said you were, however when I got there, there was no one on reception to help, a member of staff who I think was a fitter? Went to get help but came back and told me you were closed, I asked for some brochures as I had travelled a bit of a distance which he gave me, if I had known you were closed I wouldn't have driven over so maybe an update on the website would have been helpful 😊

After seeing K & I Paterson's ad for the Solo fire pits we decided that in these strange times it would be a great addition for our outdoor socialising this summer. We initially decided we'd go for the Yukon, the biggest one, but after Ian's advice we went of the Bonfire model, the middle one. The Bonfire is plenty big enough. We tried it out on a cold drizzly night under a parasol and it kept us nice and toasty. It lit quickly and burnt clean with minimum of smoke. The design makes it burn more efficiently than other ones. It will easily keep a few folk "socially distancing" around it cosy. Ideal

A superb family run company which offers services which go way above 5 stars. I would highly recommend K&I Patterson’s for all your Chimney Sweeping & Stove installation requirements. Value for money and fantastic customer relations were paramount in all the dealings I had with them. Not sure why there is a negative review on here as in my book you are the guys to go too for excellent service.
Good luck and many thanks for your services and I shall definitely be recommending and using your brilliant company again in the future.

We chose Paterson stoves because of their good reputation for selling, installation and back-up service. They were recommended to us and they certainly lived up to their reputation. Not only did we have a new stove fitted we also had a stainless steel liner installed. We were very pleased with their professionalism, efficiency and cleanliness on the days of installation.
At the showroom there is a vast array of stoves to suit all style of rooms or house.
