Free Insulation grants are available to install Cavity Wall Insulation, Internal Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation and Room in Roof Insulation. All private UK householders, in receipt of a qualifying income or disability-related benefit can qualify. EnergyLink can also help with grants of up to 25% for External Wall Insulation.
You do not currently need to be receiving benefits to qualify. External Wall Free Insulation is also available in the KW, IV and PH areas of Scotland, as long as the property is not on the gas network. As long as you own or privately rent the property and it is currently occupied i.e. not under renovation, you should qualify for an Free Insulation Grant.
If you do not qualify, we can still arrange for an approved installer to provide you with a quotation for the work. Home Insulation Grants do not have to be paid back. As long as you qualify, an installer will complete the work then claim the grant to cover the cost of the work. The grants are part of the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO).

If your home was built of brick after 1924, it will most likely have two layers of brickwork with a cavity or air gap in between. After 1982, most properties were required by building regulations to have the cavity filled with insulation at the time of construction. If your home has un-filled cavity walls, you can have insulating material blown into the gap and grants are available to cover the entire cost.
If you receive a qualifying benefit, Free Cavity Wall Insulation grants are available to pay for the entire cost of having Cavity Wall Insulation professionally installed. The property must also be privately owned or rented and occupied at the time of survey. If you are not entitled to a Free Cavity Wall Insulation grant, we can still arrange a free survey and quote from an approved installer.
The Government's Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) and Green Deal schemes provide Internal Wall Insulation grants across England, Scotland and Wales. If you receive a qualifying benefit, you should qualify for FREE Internal Wall Insulation, depending on the type of heating system installed. The property should also be privately owned or rented and have solid walls.
